As a person who've pretty much made it from being a computer hobbyist to someone getting by making some extra cash online, I can say that IT might be a good place for me to start a career. And while I do know that being a blogger or internet marketer is very different from being a programmer or a web designer - much more a Cisco certified specialist - I believe that, having been exposed to bits and pieces of the little things, has just inspired me to grow more.
One place I have looked at to study IT is Cisco through the Cisco Learning Home Network. It's a great place for anyone trying to learn IT since it encapsulates everything you need to start a career - from the career opportunities available to you, to the various stories that people from the industry have to say, to a guide that allows to plan out your course, to a learning center that gives you the chance to look at the latest technologies, as well as the Cisco certification programs which talks about the various certifications you can get with Cisco.
I checked out the list of things that I could possibly get into and found a variety of interesting courses - Design, Routing and Switching, Security, Storage Networking, Voice, Wireless and even Specialist Certifications such as Wireless LAN Certifications and Data Center Certifications. With all these options I'm sure I could find a place I'm comfortable with. Voice and wireless might be a good place to start.
I hope you guys could check out the site as well. Cisco is a multinational company and some training courses are available in Asia too. They also have a great Careers page which could help you understand the value of what they have to offer both from a financial aspect and a growth perspective.
